Printing Process

Our goal is to present you with a finished product that makes all of us happy, most of all: YOU!

So you want to get something printed... you have an idea for marketing but can’t quite put it together...

What happens when you commission us to design for you?

You make an appointment with us, bring us your materials and describe to us what it is you imagine your product to look like.

Please understand that we will do everything in our powers to read your mind, but sometimes we just do not see the same mental pictures you see; the first design could be not at all what you have envisioned. That is where the proofing stages come into play. After a pre-determined design period, we will be able to show you our first draft.

Proofing Stages
The first draft will be the basis for all following alterations. With this concept you have something in front of you that you either like or dislike... and together we will take it from there: eliminate or change what you don’t like, keep or even enhance what you do like. You can change your wording... as a matter of fact, you can make any change you like.. it’s all part of the package, and does not cost you a dime extra.

Perfect proof and beyond
Once you are happy with our design and the final "perfect proof" is signed, we "pull your job to negs," meaning instead of a desktop printer, the file is sent to an image setter, where the color separations are developed on negative film. One of our technicians will "strip up" the negatives, where (s)he places the negative on a masking sheet. The masking sheet is an 11 1/2 x 17 1/2" grid sheet the same size of the metal plate that is used for printing. The negatives are burned onto the plate, the plate is developed and your job can be printed.

To print we use either a 2-color or 4 color press, of which we have two that run concurrently.

Don’t imagine - come take a look for yourself!

If you would like to see the process for yourself, please make an appointment with us for a private tour of our facilities. We will be more than happy to show you just how it is done.
